Ahmedabad (Gujarat), India, April 1: April 2 is celebrated globally as World Autism Awareness Day. The research of doctors from Ahmedabad has played a major role in the timely diagnosis and treatment of autism, which is rapidly increasing worldwide. The doctors and research scientists across the globe make special mention of the research done by doctors from Ahmedabad-Gujarat in their research.
Giving details about World Autism Awareness Day, Dr. Jayesh Seth of the Institute of Human Genetics and Dr. Ketan Patel, a specialist in homeopathy said that research on autism in genetic science plays an important role in its treatment. Dr Harsh Patel, Paediatric Neurologist said “If a child is diagnosed before the age of four, the chances of recovery are 90 percent. 10 percent of children worldwide do not recover from any treatment, and in addition to autism, the child suffers from a disease called Metabolic Neuropathy or Mitochondrial Neuropathy.”
Regarding World Autism Awareness Day, Dr. Deepika Jain of Shishu Child Development and CGC Dr. Lakshit Chauhan said that 1 out of every 68 children born worldwide is suffering from autism. What is autism?
