India’s Real Estate Sector Enters Decadal Growth Phase
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 30: At a time when India’s real estate sector is witnessing unprecedented investor interest and structural transformation, NAREDCO Maharashtra NextGen is set to host ‘Excelerate 2026’, a one-day international conclave aimed at bringing together global and domestic stakeholders to deliberate on the future of real estate investment and financing in India. India’s real estate sector is experiencing strong growth driven by a decade of reforms since 2014, including RERA, GST rationalisation and supportive RBI policies, which have improved transparency, governance and investor confidence. These changes have led to record property sales and a steady rise in institutional investment, which has more than doubled in the past four years and is expected to double again in coming four years, with foreign capital now contributing over half of total inflows, highlighting the growing global interest in India’s property market.
Public capital markets have also shown strong confidence in the sector. Real estate companies collectively raised over Rs 26,000 crore through public markets in the 12 months ending July 2025, while the sector accounted for nearly 15 per cent of cumulative net investments by Alternative Investment Funds, amounting to Rs 73,903 crore in FY2025. The emergence of REITs and other investment structures has further broadened the capital base available to developers and asset owners.
