Saif Ali Khan Joins Go Dharmic Charity Cricket Day in London

London [United Kingdom], July 07: Under glorious summer sunshine, families, friends, former international cricketers and supporters of compassion came together for a memorable day of cricket and giving, as Go Dharmic hosted a special Charity Cricket Day at the Luton Town and Indians Cricket Club to raise funds for children and humanitarian projects.

The event brought together actor Saif Ali Khan, his sons Taimur and Jeh, filmmaker Nikhil Dwivedi, Founder of Samena Capital Shirish Saraf, Chairman of Dabur Mohit Burman, Executive Director of INOXGFL Group Devansh Jain, former England international Usman Afzaal, former England spinner Monty Panesar and many other supporters who united around a shared purpose: using the spirit of cricket to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and vulnerable communities.

The day was more than just a cricket match. It was a celebration of family, friendship, generosity and the belief that sport has the power to unite people across cultures while supporting those most in need.

Throughout the day, guests had the opportunity to learn more about the work of Go Dharmic and witness the impact the organisation is making around the world. Many were deeply moved by the stories of compassion and service that define the charity’s work.

Saif Ali Khan, who enjoyed batting alongside his sons in what was a memorable English summer cricket experience, praised Go Dharmic’s mission and the spirit behind the event.

“It was such a wonderful day, a great day of cricket in the sun—fathers, sons. Thank you for organising a wonderful day’s cricket at the Luton Town and Indians Cricket Club. It was probably my son’s first proper English wicket country game, and I think it’s a lovely way to learn how to play cricket. The whole family had a lovely time, and if it’s all for this cause, we’re all with you.”

“I think the world has so many haves and too many have-nots, and I think kindness, charity and compassion are things we should all do a little more of. It’s wonderful that we have you taking care of this amazing charity and doing what you do. So I’m here to support that and wish you all the very best.”

Hanuman Dass the Founder of Go Dharmic said: “I really feel Saif’s father would have played here at some point during his county cricket days. Saif scored 50 runs; not a bad knock at all! More importantly, voices like yours can inspire love and compassion. With everything you’ve achieved, you have the ability to encourage people to care for others, and we’re deeply grateful for your support.”

He further added, “Go Dharmic is a movement for compassion in action. Events like this bring people together to create real change by helping children access better educational opportunities and tackling food poverty. We believe that no child should ever have to go to school hungry. It is an honour to have Saif Ali Khan and so many wonderful friends come together in support of this cause. Their generosity and willingness to use the power of cricket to make a difference will help us reach more children and families in need. Together, we can build a kinder, more compassionate world.”

Entrepreneur Shirish Saraf said: “I’m really touched by how many people they reached out to. He (Hanuman Dass)  did really good work during COVID in India. We did food distribution together; over a million meals. And it’s just incredible the kind of scale, logistics, passion, commitment, sincerity with which he does it.

And in cricketing terms, as they say, there’s a poem which a great cricket writer wrote. He said: ‘For when the one great scorer comes to mark against your name,
He writes not that you won or lost, but how you played the game.’ So you played it very well.”

The event concluded with smiles all around as players, families and volunteers reflected on a day that perfectly captured the values of cricket and community.

Go Dharmic extends its heartfelt gratitude to Luton Town and Indians Cricket Club for generously hosting the charity match and for supporting an event that brought together people from different backgrounds for a common purpose. The club’s hospitality, facilities and commitment helped create a memorable day for every participant, from international players to young children experiencing English cricket for the very first time.

Go Dharmic works across the globe to create positive change through compassion in action. Its initiatives include providing nutritious meals for vulnerable communities, supporting education for children, disaster relief, healthcare initiatives, environmental projects including tree planting, food security programmes and empowering volunteers to serve humanity through acts of kindness.

The Charity Cricket Day demonstrated how sport can become a powerful force for good. Every run scored, every partnership built and every conversation shared contributed towards raising funds that will help support children and families through Go Dharmic’s humanitarian programmes.

About Go Dharmic

Go Dharmic is a global humanitarian movement committed to serving humanity through food distribution, disaster relief, environmental action, and community outreach, guided by the principle of compassion in action.
