Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], July 15: Hidhaaya Islamic College for Girls, Chennai organised a grand Felicitation Ceremony to honour outstanding academic achievers of the 10th and 12th Standard State Board and CBSE examinations, while also celebrating two significant milestones in the institution’s journey.
Unlike conventional felicitation programmes that recognise only their own students, Hidhaaya Islamic College for Girls has, for the past four years, been honouring all deserving Class 10 and Class 12 Chennai based students who have secured 90% and above in the State Board and CBSE examinations, irrespective of their schools. This unique initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to recognising merit, encouraging academic excellence, and motivating young achievers across communities.
This year, the programme received an overwhelming response, with more than 180 students from both the State Board and CBSE registering for the felicitation ceremony. The enthusiastic participation highlights the growing commitment of students towards academic excellence and the importance of encouraging talent within society.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rabia Basri, Principal and Correspondent of Hidhaaya Islamic College for Girls, stated that talented, disciplined, and hardworking students form the foundation of a progressive nation. She prayed that the Almighty bless all the students with continued success, beneficial knowledge, and opportunities to contribute positively to society.
Hidhaaya Islamic College for Girls is committed to providing holistic education by integrating Islamic studies, Arabic language, and contemporary education, thereby nurturing students intellectually, morally, spiritually, and socially. The college aims to develop young women who are academically competent, ethically grounded, and socially responsible.
The programme also marked two other significant celebrations for the institution.
The first was the welcome of the new batch of students, who officially joined the Hidhaaya family and commenced their educational journey at the college.
The second was the celebration of a historic milestone—the successful completion of the first batch of Alimah students. These students completed the three-year Alimah programme while simultaneously pursuing their Class XII education through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). They have now secured admission to various colleges to pursue higher education in diverse academic disciplines, reflecting Hidhaaya’s vision of integrating Islamic education with mainstream higher education.
Mr. Nazeer Ataullah, Chairman of Hidhaaya Islamic College for Girls, described this achievement as a proud milestone that reflects the institution’s mission of empowering young Muslim women through quality education rooted in Islamic values while preparing them for higher education and meaningful contributions to society.

The college also recognised the achievements of its own students who excelled in academic, literary, cultural, and co-curricular activities throughout the academic year. In addition, members of the teaching faculty were honoured for receiving recognition from various prestigious organisations for their outstanding contributions to education and society.
The event concluded with prayers and National Anthem for the continued success of the students and reaffirmed Hidhaaya Islamic College for Girls’ commitment to promoting academic excellence, character building, leadership, and holistic education for young women.
