Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], October 6: Ocean Paws, a Hyderabad-based pet supplies company, has launched its e-commerce platform to offer a wide range of products for dog owners, bird enthusiasts and aquarium hobbyists across India. The company was founded by Pavan and Koushik, who bring together online shopping and physical experience of aquarism into their business model, making it clear that special expertise plays an important role in the choice of products they offer.
Since its start in December 2025, it has produced numerous types of products in excess of 100 that belong to diverse groups in the field of pet care and aquariums. These include: Freshwater Aquarium Equipment Marine and Reef Aquarium Equipment Filtration Products Dog Foods & Accessories Bird Seeds.
A distinctive feature of the company’s operating model is the participation of one of its co-founders Pavan, who is an expert in aquarism with more than 20 years’ experience in keeping fish. As the company reports, products presented on its website are tested personally by him before going into sale. This is expected to help hobbyists in making more knowledgeable purchasing decisions, especially when it comes to specialized equipment and maintenance products.
“Most pet stores in India are run by traders. We are run by hobbyists. That changes every single product decision we make,” said Pavan, co-founder and aquarium specialist at Ocean Paws.
The objective of the company is to meet the needs of both regular pet owners as well as the hobbyists who will have specific requirements. The regular retailing of pets usually emphasizes the need for pet food and related products. However, when it comes to an aquarium hobby, the equipment used along with the products consumed will have to be chosen based on several considerations.
Ocean Paws catalogue includes products designed for different stages of aquarium maintenance and care. Its offerings span freshwater setups as well as marine and reef aquarium requirements. The company also caters to dog and bird owners, allowing customers to access products across several pet categories through a single online platform.
The company’s product range includes brands such as Bubble Magus, Aquaforest, API, Aquatic Remedies, SunSun and Pedigree. These products cover areas including aquarium filtration, water treatment, maintenance, marine reef care, pet nutrition and general accessories.
In addition to its product range, Ocean Paws says it operates as a compliant Indian business. The company is UDYAM registered and GST registered, and operates as an Indian MSME. Its online platform supports customers beyond Hyderabad, with the company offering pan-India delivery for orders placed through its e-commerce operation.
Ocean Paws founders say their focus on practical hobbyist experience is intended to differentiate the company from a conventional trading-led retail model. By combining an online catalogue with aquarium expertise, the company aims to build a platform where customers can access products while also benefiting from the experience of people familiar with their practical use.
The company currently serves customers in India via its online store. The portfolio of the firm currently combines a number of segments in the pet-care industry, including ordinary pet care products for dogs and birds to aquariums and marine reefs.
With regards to aquarium lovers, the position of the firm as a specialist becomes relevant since taking care of an aquarium may need constant supply of filtration products and water treatment equipment. Ocean Paws’ focus on these categories is supported by Pavan’s long-term involvement in the aquarium hobby.
With its Hyderabad base, pan-India delivery model and expanding catalogue, Ocean Paws is building an online destination for pet owners and aquarium hobbyists seeking both general and specialist supplies.
