Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], October 16: The Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB) has commenced the Mains examination for the Revenue Talati (Class-III) recruitment, with 12,179 candidates appearing over three days (October 14–16, 2025) for 2,389 posts. After the large-scale preliminary exam, Mains has Artificial Intelligence (AI) –based safeguards, further enhancing transparency, security and fairness.
In addition to the existing biometric and facial recognition systems, this examination uniquely incorporates AI not only to track candidates but also to match their profiles to their first examination record. This guarantees that only candidates who were qualified in the preliminary exam will be able to sit for the Mains. The AI surveillance also tracks the movement of the invigilator in classrooms to minimise any chances of malpractice during the exam, along with AI-enabled CCTV monitoring from the Central Command Room (CCR) for real-time oversight. Further, a centralised control with centralised control of the planned release of exam trunks, backed by AI – AI-assisted programs confirming trunks were not accessed beforehand. In addition to this, live CCTV feeds from the centres, integrated with AI-based analytics and monitored from the CCR, ensured that any impropriety was quickly identified and acted on. All candidates also underwent HHMD-based frisking as an added layer of security.

With over 12,000 candidates writing three papers across three days, it was imperative to introduce such innovations, including AI-based CCTV surveillance from the CCR and HHMD-based frisking, along with stringent checks and measures to ensure transparency and discipline at all of the centres. To successfully facilitate the exam process, the Board established a comprehensive logistical framework. This involved coordination across districts, sufficient infrastructure at each exam centre, and timelines to ensure that the examination was conducted smoothly for all candidates. In total, there were a total of over 12,000 candidates who wrote three papers over three days. AI-enabled safeguards were essential to maintaining discipline and fairness at scale.
