New Delhi (India) July 22 : Former teacher, senior bureaucrat of central government and writer of all genres of prose and poetry, Raj Kumar Prajapat, in his Hindi literary book ‘Kalera Baas Ki Baatein’, has highlighted the psychology of social behaviour and on one hand, has presented the behaviour of the hardworking and innocent people of the society, which is up to the social values, and on the other hand, the dual behaviour of the hypocritical people.

The book ‘Kalera Baas Ki Baatein’ is not just a collection of stories, but a complete philosophy of life. All the stories included in this collection are real events. Its plots and all the characters are lively, some of whom are still struggling with the challenges of life in the real world. In fact, it is a collection of biographies of the characters of various memoirs and plots.

There is no spice, imagination, excitement, myth, violence, fantasy in it. There is no scholarship of language and grammar in it either. This book is just a true saga of love and simplicity. This collection is for emotional people, for people who like truth.

This book will definitely make you emotional in the silence of the night but more than that, it will inspire you to struggle with life. IRAS officer Rajkumar Prajapat, who was earlier a teacher in the education department of Rajasthan government, is currently the head of the finance department of Kota division railway.

Surely, the reader will get emotional many times while reading and will pause in between and more importantly, all these stories provide a strong positive inspiration.

Let’s delve into the author’s insights.

Q1. Can you share the central theme of your book and why it’s relevant today?

Ans- These true stories expose the dual character of our society. Of course, humanity, blinded by the materialistic glamour, often neglects social moral values, but even today there is no dearth of gentle, simple and good-natured people in our society.

On one hand, the writer has presented touching examples based on true incidents related to the lives of those people who are selflessly dedicated to their work. Their honesty and self-respect may put them behind others, but it is because of those innocent and hardworking people that the society looks beautiful. On the other hand, he has also seamlessly presented the hypocritical behaviour of the so-called esteemed people of the society, dressed in white robes.

Q2. How has your personal journey influenced your perspectives while writing this book?

Ans- My childhood was spent in very poor and scarce circumstances. I have experienced the state of deprivation very deeply. Hence, in every plot of life’s struggle, I find myself in the place of the character of the story.

After moving to the city, sometimes I get emotional and delve into my past and often get lost in old memories. Then I go back to those places where I spent my childhood and among those people and listen to their stories and satisfy myself by writing about them. This collection of tells is the result of this habit of mine.

Q3. What inspired you to write this book?

Ans- These things are excerpts from the biographies of small people of a very backward society. In all the stories, the main character of the plot is a person of very sensitive personality on human and social level, who gives more importance to human values and social morality than narrow selfishness and economic gain in every situation. These are those people of the society who are called illiterate or uneducated in the society because they do not understand the crooked personal interests and opportunism like the educated and knowledgeable people. These are those people who forget their sorrows on seeing happiness on the faces of others and for whom goodness is more important than comforts.

Q4. Can you share an interesting aspect of your writing process?

Ans- Yes, anyone would be surprised to know that this book has been written over a period of more than 10 years because this is not a collection of fictional stories but a collection of true, poignant and heart-touching incidents of our village ‘Kalera Baas’ and to write these stories, I had to talk to a lot of people and go there many times.

Q5. Is there anything that you want to share with your readers?

Ans- I would like to say something about the title of the book. There is a strong basis behind titling the collection as ‘Kalera Baas ki Baatein’. Most of the stories and characters of this collection are related to a village named ‘Kalera Baas’. Before the establishment of Churu town and the construction of the fort, there used to be Kalera Baas village here. Hence, this name has been liked due to its historical attraction. Presently, Kalera Baas is a locality of Churu town. Since I was born in this locality of Churu town, I have experienced the big life philosophies of small people of this small world since my childhood. This collection of stories is not my autobiography but it is definitely my soul-experience story.

Q6. Are there any future projects you’re currently working upon?

Ans- Yes, this year I am going to publish two more books. Both are Hindi poetry collections. One is ‘Ugte Suraj Ke Prerana Geet’ which is a collection of poems written to motivate myself during a long period of despair and the other is ‘Gunjati Khamoshiyan’ which contains sweet memories of my past.

Apart from this, I have a manuscript ready which I am planning to publish next year. This book is based on the true story of my bad interview.

I have five more manuscripts which need to be given the final touches. All these writings of mine are from the days of struggle before I joined this service. Now I don’t have enough time to plan and write a book afresh.
