Salem (Tamil Nadu) [India] November 16: Karthik Raja Karnan, a visionary entrepreneur and the founder of MADique Technologies, is making waves in the food processing industry with his innovative, cost- effective automation solutions. Since its inception, MADique Technologies has empowered over 3,000 food    entrepreneurs, enabling them to scale their businesses with affordable, high-tech machinery that streamlines production, reduces labour costs, and increases productivity.

Under Karthik’s leadership, MADique Technologies has become a pioneering force in creating state-of-the-art food machinery tailored for the food processing sector. The company’s flagship product, the idiyappam-making machine, is a prime example of its commitment to excellence and innovation. The machine, recognized by the Kalam Book of World Records as the smallest automatic string hopper machine in the world, is revolutionizing the way idiyappam — a popular South Indian delicacy — is made.

What makes MADique’s idiyappam machine truly unique is its compact size and impressive functionality. Initially a bulky 5-foot-tall machine weighing 80 kg, the product has been re- engineered to just 2 feet in height and 22 kg in weight, making it portable and energy-efficient. It operates on just 60 watts of power (equivalent to a ceiling fan) and can produce up to 400 pieces of idiyappam per hour. This machine has become a game-changer for food entrepreneurs globally, offering a cost-effective, high-performance solution for producing idiyappam in large quantities.

The idiyappam-making machine is not only a breakthrough in technology but also an affordable business opportunity. Priced at just ₹41,300, it is significantly more economical than other machines on the market, without compromising on quality. The machine is exported to over 30 countries, empowering entrepreneurs — including housewives, differently-abled individuals, and small business owners — to start their own businesses with minimal upfront investment. In just 40 days, these entrepreneurs can see a return on their investment by producing and selling between 500 to 2,000 idiyappam units daily.

Karthik’s mission is clear: to make automation technology accessible to small and medium- sized businesses, driving economic growth, especially for women and differently abled individuals. His passion for empowering food entrepreneurs with affordable technology has been a driving force behind the success of MADique Technologies.

In addition to transforming the food industry, Karthik’s journey has been marked by a series of prestigious awards that highlight his entrepreneurial excellence. In 2024 alone, he was honored with the Fast Growing 500 CEO Award, India Top 500 Best Brand Award, Outstanding Young Entrepreneur Award, and The Best Innovative Entrepreneur Award. He is also a recipient of the Doctor. A.P. J. Abdul Kalam Award, recognizing his significant contributions to technology and social impact.

MADique’s Impact and Vision for the Future

MADique Technologies is not only known for its pioneering idiyappam machines but also for its commitment to quality and sustainability. The company holds ISO certifications for quality management (ISO 9001:2015), energy management (ISO 50001:2018), environmental management (ISO 14001:2015), and customer satisfaction (ISO 10002:2018). Additionally,MADique complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and holds the CE Mark, ensuring the highest safety and environmental standards.

Karthik’s efforts go beyond technology — his dedication to giving back is evident in his commitment to social causes. As part of MADique’s social responsibility initiatives, the company offers a 10% discount to differently abled individuals who wish to purchase the machine. To further promote his love for education, Karthik gifts every customer a copy of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s biography, encouraging them to embrace lifelong learning.

Moreover, inspired by Dr. Kalam’s vision, Karthik has launched an initiative to plant trees by providing free seed balls to every customer. The seed balls contain nutrients and fertilizers to help trees grow, encouraging environmental sustainability.

A Story of Innovation and Empowerment

What started as a small venture in a car shed in Salem has transformed into a globally recognized business. Karthik’s passion for food automation, combined with his deep respect for Dr. Abdul Kalam’s legacy, continues to drive MADique Technologies’ mission of empowering entrepreneurs worldwide. Through innovation, accessibility, and a deep understanding of the challenges food entrepreneurs face, MADique is bridging the gap between high-tech solutions and small-to- medium businesses, ensuring they thrive in a rapidly evolving marketplace.

“I believe that a small, affordable investment can make a big difference in someone’s life,” said Karthik. “I’m proud to see housewives, differently abled individuals, and young entrepreneurs transform their lives through our products. To me, that’s more fulfilling than any accolade.”
