A nature entrepreneur and ecological restoration enthusiast, Chirag is the founder of The Keshav Farm and Keshav Jeev-Van Foundation (KJVF).
His journey began with The Keshav Farm in 2023, initially focused on plants, nursery services and pet care. Over time, his vision expanded beyond conventional gardening and plantation. Today, his work focuses on creating greener, more sustainable spaces where native plants and biodiversity can thrive.
Beyond Just Planting Trees
For Chirag, conservation is not simply about planting trees. He believes meaningful ecological restoration requires the right native species, healthy soil, responsible water management and habitats that can support birds, butterflies, insects and other forms of life.
Through The Keshav Farm and KJVF, Chirag regularly organises native tree plantation drives across community spaces, including government schools, public parks, temples, roadsides and cremation grounds (Shamshan Ghats). These initiatives aim to introduce suitable native vegetation into everyday public spaces while encouraging communities to take greater responsibility for their environment.
His vision is to create biodiversity zones within cities—spaces where nature can flourish alongside urban development and help cities breathe again.
Making Green Action Accessible
Chirag believes environmental awareness becomes meaningful when people get an opportunity to participate directly.
On Independence Day, his team distributed plants free of cost to members of the community, encouraging people to celebrate the occasion by taking home a living symbol of growth, responsibility and hope.
Initiatives like these are intended to make environmental action accessible to everyone and encourage people to see planting and caring for trees as an ongoing responsibility rather than a one-day activity.
Through The Keshav Farm, Chirag also works in areas such as landscaping and garden design, terrace gardening, native plantations, sustainable irrigation, bird aviaries, fish ponds and green projects. His approach is to make practical environmental solutions accessible to homes, institutions, businesses and communities.
Taking Conservation Beyond His Own Projects
Chirag’s environmental efforts also extend to public awareness and conservation campaigns. He has been involved in initiatives such as the Save Dol Ka Badh campaign, participating in activities including human chains, cycle rallies and candle marches to highlight the importance of protecting remaining natural spaces.
He believes conservation cannot remain limited to government agencies or environmental organisations. Citizens, schools, businesses, architects, institutions and local communities all have a role to play in creating healthier urban ecosystems.
This belief also shaped the establishment of Keshav Jeev-Van Foundation, a Section 8 organisation working towards environmental conservation and animal welfare.
A Vision for a Living Future
At the heart of Chirag’s work is a simple philosophy: “We must protect what protects us.”
He believes trees, forests, soil, water and biodiversity are not separate from human life—they are the natural systems that make human life possible. His aim is therefore not just to create more green spaces, but to encourage a change in how people understand and interact with nature.
His vision is of a future where native trees flourish, birds and butterflies return, children experience biodiversity firsthand, and development does not completely disconnect people from the natural world.
Chirag’s journey is still evolving, but his direction is clear: to build a model where entrepreneurship, ecological restoration and community participation come together to create a healthier and more sustainable future.
