In a significant leap towards sustainable living, SolarSquare’s second-largest solar installation in Bangalore at the SNN Raj Greenbay Society–a 341 kW capacity solar plant–is set to generate an estimated ₹40 lakhs in annual savings for the community, marking a pivotal milestone for both SolarSquare and the residents of the housing society.

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India] July 29 : In a significant leap towards sustainable living, SolarSquare’s second-largest solar installation in Bangalore at the SNN Raj Greenbay Society–a 341 kW capacity solar plant–is set to generate an estimated ₹40 lakhs in annual savings for the community, marking a pivotal milestone for both SolarSquare and the residents of the housing society.

A Financial and Environmental Win

With 1000 flats and a monthly electricity bill of ₹10 lakhs before solar installation, a cost-effective solution was paramount. The new solar plant is saving the Society ₹3.5 lakhs per month in electricity bills, translating to approximately ₹42 lakhs in annual savings.

Since its commissioning in December 2023, the system has generated an impressive 3.4 lakh units in just seven months, surpassing 100% of the estimated electricity generation. This outstanding performance has exceeded expectations and confirmed the project’s financial viability. As a result, the expected breakeven period is projected to be within 4.75 years, approximately 3 months ahead of the committed timeline.

Furthermore, the system has offset 145 lakh kgs of carbon, equivalent to planting over 6000 trees. This significant contribution to reducing the carbon footprint underscores the environmental benefits of the project alongside its financial success.

Mr Shourya Singh, the Vice President of the Committee at SNN Raj Greenbay Society, expressed his satisfaction with the project, saying, “With a large number of residents and our electricity bills steadily climbing due to increasing consumption, we needed a sustainable solution that would also be economically viable. SolarSquare proved to be the perfect partner in this journey.

They understood our structural challenges and tailored their solutions to meet our specific needs, ensuring that the integrity of our roof was maintained. Whenever we needed support or maintenance, their team responded promptly and efficiently. We are now enjoying significant savings on our electricity bills and contributing to a greener environment.”

Unmatched Technological Excellence

What sets this solar plant apart is its cutting-edge technology and innovative solar solution. The plant is equipped with high-efficiency, bi-facial solar panels by Longi Solar, the world’s leading module manufacturer. Each panel has a capacity of 535 Wp, ensuring maximum energy capture and efficiency.

In addition, the solar plant is connected to 638 units of Enphase IQ7A Micro-Inverters, each covered by a 25-year warranty. This setup guarantees long-term reliability and enhances the overall system energy output.

The mounting structures are SolarSquare’s flagship Intelligent WindPro MountTM, which are cyclone-proof and designed to withstand wind speeds up to 170 kmph. These structures feature non-penetrative floating ballasts, ensuring no drilling or scraping is required on the society’s rooftops. SolarSquare aimed to preserve the structural integrity of the buildings upon request, while providing robust and reliable solar solutions.

The plant is distributed with eight different net-metering points and is seamlessly connected to BESCOM, ensuring efficient energy distribution and utilization within the community.

Additionally, the solar system is covered with 5 years of comprehensive maintenance by SolarSquare to ensure optimal performance for the entire period.

Nikhil Nahar, the Co-Founder and Director of SolarSquare, commented, “We are thrilled to see the positive impact our installation has had on the SNN Raj Greenbay Society.

Our goal is to provide top-notch, sustainable energy solutions, and this project is a testament to our commitment to excellence. We look forward to continuing our work and helping more communities achieve their sustainability goals.”

The success of the solar installation at SNN Raj Greenbay Society serves as a model for future residential projects. The combination of significant cost savings, innovative design, and sustainable energy production showcases the potential of solar power in transforming urban living spaces.

As more communities look to reduce their carbon footprint and lower energy costs, SolarSquare stands ready to lead the way with its expertise and state-of-the-art technology.
